Obviously on Easter Sunday the children expect to get colored eggs on this joyful day. For my son's family and my primary children they got a dozen of Resurrection Eggs.
I found this idea on the internet and I decided this would be a great gift to put together for my son and a great lesson for my prmary kids. It s a great way to educate the little ones on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ...so here is how you can make your own Resurrecton Eggs for your family.
1 empty carton of eggs
1 dozen plastic eggs
A black permanent magic marker
1 small star
1 small dove
2 small fishes
1 small bandaid
1 small flower
1 small piece of cracker
1 small piece of brown pipe cleaner for crown1 small brown piece of pipe cleaner, shape it into a cross
1 small dice
1 small rock
Here are the scriptures to put inside each egg with the items indicated below:
“Behold a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted means God with us.”
“And knew her not till she had brought forth her first born son, and he called his name Jesus.
”And Jesus when he was baptized went up straightway out of the water: and lo the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lightning upon him.
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.”
3 “And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
Egg 5...The Atonement in the Garden…a small flower...Luke 22:40-44...
40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”
“Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests.
“And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail king of the Jews”
“And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.”
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.
As the scriptures are written, each scripture has a sequence of events...print out the scriptures and place the scripture inside the egg with the item needed to identify the event.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee.
