Preparation...Are you Ready?

Preparing for the unexpected is a way of overcoming some heartaches and much worries.

Over 2,000 years ago there was no fashionable tools to make anything. There wasn't steel nails, levels to measure anything but there was a guiding light to keep Noah and his family alive.

That guiding light was the Lord and by following His instructions they survived a deadly rainfall that killed every living thing on earth..

Sometimes we do not hear that still small voice that alerts us when we need to be prepared for any upcoming and unexpected events that may crash our quiet everyday life.

The more I studied the photograph above, I realize how wonderful Heavenly Father is by making sure all the animals on earth were saved for us to enjoy. The genius mind of Heavenly Father to guide Noah into building this massive boat was amazing. Lodging thousands of animals in their proper and individual cubicle. God knew how they needed to be prepared for the flood, with enough grain to feed all the animals on board and all of Noah's family for over a year.

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are asked to keep a year supply of food, water and medicine in case of a need. We are also asked if we can to have at least 6 months worth of cash in reserved to help pay our home bills in case of unemployment, illness, family death, storms or a company strike.

By following the Lord's council given to us by our Prophet Thomas S. Monson, we "Latter Day Saints" can overcome many of these unexpected moments that come before us in life.

Anyone can build up a good food storage (an ARK like Noah) to provide for your family in case of a need. Here are some websites to help you prepare and build up your own ark.
