Young Women's Organization

“There is no more beautiful sight than a young woman who glows with the light of the Spirit, who is confident and courageous because she is virtuous.”

—Sister Elaine S. Dalton

This September my grand-daughter Paloma will be twelve years old. This means she will be entering into the Young Women Organization in January. She enhance the joy of being a young woman, she will learn to become a modest lady, a good friend full of clean and excellent moral values and a young woman full of virtue.

By following the Savior's example and teachings, she can solidify her testimony of Jesus Christ and the restored gospel.
She can fulfill her mortal mission
and return to live with her Heavenly Father.

The purpose of the Young Women organization is to help each young woman, ages 12 to 18, "come unto Christ"
(Moroni 10:32)

The Young Women logo is a torch surrounded by the Young Women motto. Their motto is “stand for truth and righteousness.”  The torch represents the light of Christ, inviting all to “come unto Christ”
 (Moroni 10:32)

It invites all young women to make a commitment to hold up their light by being an example and remaining worthy to make and keep sacred covenants and receive the ordinances of the temple.

"Our desire is to help young women be worthy and pure and to prepare every young woman to receive the blessings and ordinances of the temple. We will work tirelessly with your daughters, with you, and with priesthood and Young Women leaders to protect and strengthen and prepare our precious young women to be virtuous and pure and live the standards that will help them be free and happy and allow them to reach their divine potential. We know that we are all elect daughters of God. We also know that each one of us has a great work to perform."
—Elaine S. Dalton, Young Women general president

“Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations” (D&C 115:5).
