This is Sonny not Sammy
20 years ago we lost a wonderful young man…my son Sammy. After battling cancer for 2 years he passed away leaving behind many memories. When my sister Mayra was expecting her first and only child, we were all thrilled and we couldn’t wait for this bundle of joy to arrive. The amazing thing was… that when my nephew Sonny began to grow up, he also began to look like my son Sammy. To our surprise he not only looks like him but he ended up being the spit image of my son. Actually we wouldn’t be able to tell them apart if Sammy would be standing next to him. My nephew Sonny is one of the nicest, respectful and joyous young men around. His love and affection for people is admirable and very well noticed by everyone.
To our surprise my nephew Sonny ended up having Sammy’s smile, eyes, eyebrows. nose, looks, stare, laugh, he walks & talks like him & he has the twinkle in his eyes just like Sammy had. Today I enjoy seeing my nephew Sonny become the man my son would never be… but always making sure my nephew is loved for being Sonny not Sammy.
I love you Sonny and in Aunt Millie’s eyes you are a very special child of God.
